After a quick stop at the Glass Beach on our PCH road trip, we drove a quick few minutes north to Mendocino. We parked downtown and walked around the shops and restaurants in the area. Unfortunately a lot was closed because of COVID, so we’ll definitely have to schedule another trip here in the future.
Our main stop was the Gallery Bookshop. I am a sucker for any independent local bookstore, and this one did not disappoint. I spent about 30 minutes browsing and finding a few new reads for the rest of the trip.
For lunch we stopped at Trillium Cafe, which had a beautiful outdoor area to sit. It was perfect weather, and the food was incredible. We started with this beautiful strawberry salad, and a bowl of tomato soup. For lunch we had the shrimp sandwich, and we loved everything. They also have a great selection of local wines by the glass, and some local beers as well.
The one thing we wanted to do but ran out of time for, was the B Bryan Reserve, an animal reserve in Mendocino where you can feed giraffes. It’s on our list for the next trip for sure!
After lunch we got back in the car and drove down the rest of the coast to Bodega Bay, before driving inland to Petaluma to spend the evening at the Lagunitas Brewery. Check out our full PCH itinerary here!
