After spending a few days in Patong, we headed across the island for a more relaxing portion of our vacation in Siray Bay. When our car pulled up at the Westin Siray Bay we were already completely amazed at how beautiful the resort was. We checked in and were driven up to our building in one of the house “buggies.” When you book your room, it is completely worth it to spring a little extra for the rooms with pool access.
A word of advice: Ask for a room at the end of the building so you can get extra room on your patio overlooking your private pool. Totally worth it. It gives you two full lounge chairs and a shaded overhang.
The first day we spent the whole time in our pool, and then ordered room service for dinner, which consisted of Western and Thai dishes (we definitely opted for Thai).
Day 2 we decided to check out the spa. They have a ton of spa packages, and we opted for the romantic spa afternoon which included the sauna and steam room, followed by a full hour body scrub and then a full hour body massage. It was heavenly. We loved it so much that we went back three times for massages and scrubs during our time there. Make sure to get there early, so you can check out the steam room, sauna, and lounge room. They make some delicious herbal drinks and herbal teas, and at the end of every treatment you get a chocolate while you wait to sign the bill.
After the spa, we decided to check out the private beach, which surprisingly was empty for most of the time we were there. It was great for a relaxing dip in the ocean without a ton of people. They also had some water sports and you could rent kayaks and such from the hotel.
Afterwards we decided to check out one of the hotel pools, but quickly decided ours was better. We got some drinks from their mixology bar, and took them back up to our room to lounge in our pool until dinnertime. The hotel is really designed to never need to leave, and each day they have different activities you can sign up for. One that we really wanted to do, but didn’t get the chance, was the mixology class you could take at their bar. I’d recommend checking it out if you can!
For dinner that night we went to the outdoor Italian restaurant on premise. The food was good, but you are eating Italian in Thailand, which may not be the smartest choice. My stomach didn’t agree much with it the next day either, but the views from the restaurant are gorgeous.
Our last full day we spent lounging in our pool, and then heading to one of the hotel pools for their daily happy hour.
For our last day, we woke up and ordered room service breakfast as we had each day – they had some incredible eggs Benedict, and Eric got a lot of the Thai options. We checked out around 1 pm and then spent some time in the Thai restaurant overlooking the water and having some last minute Thai snacks before taking their car service back to the Phuket airport and heading back to the mainland.
We felt like the combination of a few days in Patong, and then a few days at Siray Bay was the perfect combination of sightseeing and relaxation. Planning a trip to Phuket and want some advice?
